Sounds like mastery is "talent tree X + Mastery Points = more better"
Cata, has me more interested in the game than Wrath did, mostly with all of the core changes going on and not the story. The new reforging looks really nice, and the archeology and guild talents look like a lot of fun. Also that whole path of the titans thing intrigues me. |

I imagine the stat changes will make their lives a lot easier when it comes to itemization. The stat changes are interesting and the new systems being added in are exciting there is one large red flag for me.
The direction healing is going has me concerned. Every time I hear a Blizzard developer say healers have unlimited mana or speak fondly of MC-esque healing rotations makes me like my DPS alt a little bit more. They claim they're out to make healing more interesting, but taking away the mana to do it means I will go from having the freedom to shock/judge/whatever as appropriate to watching the health of my designated target while waiting for my turn to cast a spell to come up. Thrilling...

That sounds a bit like the opposite extreme, and I doubt they'll go that route. From what I've read they want healing to be less like playing whack-a-mole with grid and more about using the right spell for the right situation. While they have said they want mana to matter more, I really doubt it will get to the point where healers are standing around doing nothing in raids. And as for Paladins specifically, they did mention in the Twitter dev chat thing recently that Paladins need more healing spells, which would probably make the class better equipped to deal with the changes in Cataclysm. |

| Actually some of this stuff sounds pretty cool... But I still see the progression of every class moving to one stat that is meaningful per class, the need to only hit 1 button to kill anything, and everyone wearing the same armor. IMO overall they are dumbing the game down and I wish they made it more complicated. |

I'm not so sure about that. They're simplifying gear stats b/c we need spreadsheets to determine what's an upgrade.
In terms of simplicity, I expect the change from mana to focus for hunters will increase the complexity of our playstyle. Especially if you consider tbc where it wasn't worthwhile to cast any other shot than steady (outside of big cooldowns but they weren't shots). |

When Blizzard talks about making healing more 'interesting', I think of the Chinese curse about 'interesting' times.
When Blizzard talks about 'fixing' a class, I think about 'fixing' a dog. |
